Quality Is Paramount In The Backcountry<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

There are many things you can take with you on the trails for cutting tasks. \u00a0Most of the items available on the market today are sub-quality pieces of imported or domestically produced junk. \u00a0Stating this isn\u2019t meant to hurt anyone\u2019s feelings. \u00a0The plain fact is that these tools are going to be used to support life, maybe for a day or maybe longer if things go wrong. \u00a0It is for this fact that reliability and quality are requirements. \u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Materials and workmanship are easily tested in the backcountry. \u00a0If quality materials were not used the tool will not last. \u00a0At best it breaks and becomes another tool, at worst it causes an injury. \u00a0Either way, I plan to have an item that will endure its demands. \u00a0Tools constructed of finer materials will be more expensive but they will also perform better in regular use. \u00a0There are materials designed around specific activities and performance demands so why not take advantage of them? \u00a0The future is now.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Aside from the blade you will also want the same quality in the tool\u2019s other features. \u00a0What good is an excellent blade if the handle can\u2019t last a few hard chops? \u00a0No good is the answer. \u00a0The other materials and features need to hold up just as well. \u00a0Gear is like a chain in this way: it is only as strong as its weakest component. \u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What Tools Do You Want To Aquire?

The tools you will want to own are completely subjective and should be tailored to your specific uses, preferences and requirements. \u00a0Some of the more common examples include: folding knife, fixed blade knife, hatchet, axe, saw and many more. \u00a0Depending on what your task is and what you prefer, choices will vary. \u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Carefully Decide Which Is Best For You<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

When it comes down to it, make sure that your use matches the quality you pick. \u00a0Don\u2019t waste money on a cheap tool that will require you to buy another, possibly spending more than the best from the start, after it breaks or fails. Safety is important here as our lives may depend on these tools performing when demanded. \u00a0Buy the best quality you can afford and practice care.
